2024 update, due to a few circumstances we have not been active this year apart from a couple of folk club appearances with our acoustic line-up. We have a couple of events already in the diary for 2025 and would like to add a few more. All of the band are involved in other music projects - Bonnie is very active with her vocal harmony group NSA (No Strings Attached), Chris calls for ceilidhs all over the country based out of Devon now, Mark is in the rock n roll band Jaybirdz having fun playing old RnR music plus playing guitar with 'The Wonder of Elvis Tribute Show' and Steve has successfully revived his 80's band The National Game having recently released a new CD of original songs and Dave on drums is with an original band Stanmore. Sally is very active in the Lewes folk scene and Rowena (flute) is a key member of our Touchstone acoustic line up - all in all we have been very busy outside Touchstone!! We played lots of gigs in 2023 including Sandwich Folk Festival and St Edith Folk club to great success and hope to be back soon with more.Best wishes Mark 30.9.24

Touchstone is a lively original folk-rock band that has been playing at Sussex gigs and wider festivals since 1989. If you enjoy folk music with an original Sussex feel, our albums are just what you’ve been looking for. Apart from being a top Celidh band Touchstone have appeared at many of the UK's top folk festivals with their original songs and enjoyed much airtime on folk FM radio stations. Bonnie and Mark from the band won the prestigious Brewhouse Competition in 1995 and Touchstone have supported Fairport Convention, Oyster Band, Show of Hands and many more.

The band also performas an  acoustic 4 piece - Bonnie (vocals), Mark (guitar, mandolin), Sally (fiddle)& Rowena (Flute).

Before going any further I must congratulate the excellent Touchstone for giving us such an excellent show last Friday. On a hot steamy night, they gave us their all, playing folk-rock of the highest quality; echoes of Fairport and Steeleye in there, yes, but they are very much themselves with their tales of Sussex myths and legends interwoven into their set. Bonnie has a superb voice and the band were tight and fluid. Hot and sticky, yes, but what a great night. These guys will be back! Thanks too to David Mumford & Mike Wilton who played a blinding opening set mixing original material with some fine covers, their two guitars interlinking superby. They will be back too! And of course thanks to all of you who were there, as I keep saying, we can't do it without you.
